A STORY THAT BEGAN WITH ONE MAN AND ONE TRADE
Every family business begins somewhere, usually smaller and harder than anyone remembers afterward. Ours began with our father, Rudy Sr, who came to this country at seventeen with no company behind him, no office, no safety net, only a willingness to work harder than the day demanded. He learned the flooring trade the only way it has ever truly been learned: on his knees, board by board, under a boss who taught him everything he knew and trusted him to get it right. For a while, that was enough. He had a trade, a boss who believed in him, and steady work. Then the company was sold, the way companies sometimes are, and Rudy was out of a job, with nothing to show for those years except the one thing that mattered most: he knew the trade cold. So he did the only thing that made sense. He went out on his own. One floor. One customer. One quiet word passed from a satisfied homeowner to a neighbor who needed the same thing done right. That is how a real business grows not through advertising, but through trust, handed down like an heirloom, and sometimes through a setback that turns out, years later, to have been the beginning of something better. Today, the next generation carries that same trade forward. We are the ones on the estimates, the demolition, the sanding, the staining, the stairs, the trim, the final walkthrough where a homeowner sees her floor for the first time and goes quiet. You will not be handed off from a friendly voice on the phone to a stranger with a sander. WHEN THE OLD HAS TO COME OUT FIRST
Before there can be a beginning, sometimes there has to be an ending. Carpet that has outlived its welcome. Padding gone thin and tired. Layers of flooring stacked on top of each other like the rings of a tree, each one a decision someone made and later abandoned. We remove it all carpet, padding, old hardwood, engineered flooring, vinyl, laminate, baseboards, shoe molding, the stubborn adhesive and fasteners left behind by whoever came before us.We never know exactly what we'll find underneath until we find it. That uncertainty doesn't frighten us. After thirty years, very little does.

HOW WE LAY EVERY BOARD
There is no single "right way" to install a floor, only the right way for this floor, in this house, on this particular day.
Depending on the subfloor and the material, we may staple, glue-down, hand-nail, or combine methods according to the manufacturer's own requirements. We do not install a floor the way we always have simply because it is familiar.The floor tells us what it needs We listen.

HARDWOOD REFINISHING BRINGING A FLOOR BACK TO LIFE
There is something almost tender about refinishing an old floor. You begin with years of scratches, worn finish, stains, small dents that each tell a story you'll never know. And then, slowly, pass by pass, you uncover what was there all along, waiting beneath the wear. We have refinished floors that have outlived the people who first installed them. Some need only a simple refinish. Others carry water damage, old patches, or the scars of one too many previous "refinishes" done in haste. Some are parquet, herringbone, or chevron, patterns that demand an entirely different kind of patience. Before we promise you anything, we look at what is actually there Always.
CUSTOM STAINS BECAUSE NOT EVERY HOME WANTS THE SAME STORY
Some homeowners want the wood to speak for itself, in its most natural voice. Others want warmth. Some want a floor that feels dark and rich, like a room meant for long conversations. Some want gray-influenced tones, or something entirely their own, built from scratch.We don't pull a color from a chart and hope for the best. We test it on your actual wood. Red Oak takes a stain differently than White Oak. Maple takes it differently still. New wood behaves nothing like wood that has already lived thirty years of life. That is why live samples matter to us, because a promise made on a paint chip is not a promise at all.
DISTRESSED, AGED & WEATHERED FLOORING
Not every floor is meant to look new. Some are meant to look as though they have always belonged, as though the house grew up around them. We can create character deliberately: hand-scraped textures, controlled distressing, layered stains, low-sheen finishes that catch the light the way an old floor should.
The goal is never to damage a floor carelessly. The goal is character that makes sense with the soul of the house.

OUR PROCESS
Evaluation → Preparation → Protection → Sanding → Detail Work → Filler → Water Popping → Stain Samples → Custom Stain → Finish Coats → Inspection → Cleanup
We sand in careful sequence: 60, 80, 100, 120 grit, as the floor requires, by hand where the machine cannot reach, with filler and preparation before a single drop of stain touches the wood.
We don't force a floor to fit our process. We adjust our process to fit the floor.
We work with professional finish systems from ProCoat, Basic Coatings, LOBA, Bona, and Pallmann: water-based, two-component, hybrid, oil-based, and hardwax oil, and we help you choose the one that actually suits your life, not just your Pinterest board. The stain gives a floor its color. The finish protects what you and we built together. Both deserve equal care.
PARQUET, HERRINGBONE & CHEVRON
Some floors are not simply laid. They are composed, like music, each piece dependent on the one beside it, the centerline as important as the wood itself. We install, refinish, restore, and repair parquet, herringbone, and chevron flooring, treating every doorway, fireplace, and transition as part of a larger pattern that has to resolve correctly, or not at all.

REPAIRS, BLENDING & EXTENSIONS
A single damaged board is rarely a simple fix. Species, width, grade, age, existing stain, existing finish, direction: all of it has to be considered before we touch a single plank.
Sometimes the match we achieve is nearly invisible. Sometimes the age of the original floor makes a perfect match impossible, and we will tell you that honestly, before we ever begin, because a customer deserves the truth more than they deserve false comfort.

Some floors carry something new wood simply cannot buy history. Original hardwood. Old parquet. Boards worn soft by generations of feet that came before yours. With floors like these, the goal is rarely replacement. It is resurrection.You don't always need to erase the age of a floor. Sometimes you only need to bring it back to life.

BASEBOARDS, SHOE MOLDING & TRIM
A floor can be flawless and still feel unfinished if the trim around it was treated as an afterthought. We handle baseboard installation and replacement, shoe molding, trim removal and reinstallation, and every transition where the floor meets the wall or the doorway. That meeting point should look intentional, as though it was always meant to happen exactly that way.
DUST CONTROL & RESPECT FOR YOUR HOME
Sanding and demolition are, by nature, messy work. We won't pretend otherwise, and we won't promise you something no honest contractor can deliver. What we can promise is heavy-duty containment, professional dust extraction, vacuum-assisted sanding, air scrubbing, and a genuine respect for the fact that this is not simply a jobsite.
